Movie Monday: September 2015

It’s September! Which means summer will officially be over on the 23rd. Now’s your last chance to catch a few good movies before fall begins. Lucky for you, I have a few good ones to choose from. Let’s get started!

The Transporter: Refueled

The 4th installment of The Transporter is due out on September 4th. Now that Ed Skrein is behind the wheel in place of Jason Statham, many are wondering how well the new lead will fare in continuing the franchise. You may recognize Skrein from season 3 of Game of Thrones, so we already know that he’s good looking enough to fill the suit, so we’re excited to see how Skrein does in this new Transporter trilogy. In The Transporter” Refueled, Frank Martin takes on a new job from transporting for a woman named Anna, who turns out to have kidnapped Frank’s father. Now in order to save his father, Frank has to help Anna take out a group of Russian human traffickers.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

After escaping the maze from the first installment of Maze Runner, the Gladers are now trying to uncover new information about the WCKD, the organization that trapped them in the maze in the first place. Now they must get through the Scorch, a desert wasteland filled with difficult obstacles and populated with dangerous Cranks. You can find out what happens in the second installment of the Maze Runner trilogy on September 18th.

Hotel Transylvania 2

The next movie I have up for recommendation happens to be another sequel, but this one will be lighthearted and lots of fun for the whole family. Things are looking up around Hotel Transylvania. They’re now open for business to humans and Mavis and Johnny even have a new baby boy. However, Drac is worried his grandson doesn’t have enough monster in him and wants his friends to help put baby Dennis through a monster-in-training boot camp. However, things go awry when Drac’s super rigid father, Vlad, shows up to criticize the hotel’s new policy and the fact that he has a half human great grandson. Check into Hotel Transylvania on September 25th!

The Intern

Also out on the 25th is The Intern, starring Oscar winners Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway. This comedy follows Ben Whittaker, 70-year-old widower who’s found that retired life is not at all what he expected. He ends up taking a job as an intern at an online fashion company. Being so much older, he finds himself clashing with the new technology around him and with the company’s young female CEO, Jules Ostin. With these two leads, this movie promises to be both funny and endearing.

I'm a mother of two and constantly searching for ways to have adventures and create memories as a new family. I love all things Disney, I'm obsessed with family costumes, and I will find any excuse to dress up and celebrate.

Lisa plays the role of the Fairy Godmother on the Pure Costumes team.
