WhedonCon – June 7-9, Hilton LAX, Los Angeles
WhedonCon is a fan convention based on the films and TV shows written and directed by Joss Whedon. In addition to the usual things you find at fan conventions, WhedonCon’s goal is to help raise money for different charities every year. This convention is perfect for fan’s of shows and movies like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Avengers, Cabin in the Woods, and more! Get into the spirit of the Con and dress up as your favorite WhedonVerse character!
Los Angeles Pride Festival – June 7-9, West Hollywood
June is LGBTQ+ Pride month! All over the country you’ll find festivals celebrating members of the community and its allies. LA Pride’s goal is to create a safe space for both self expression and advocating for human rights! At this three day festival you’ll find performances and appearances by popular musical artists, celebrities, and a activists, and of course the annual Pride Parade! Grab your rainbow gear and head to the celebrations!
E3 – June 11-13, Los Angeles Convention Center
Calling all gamers and video game developers: this event is for you! E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is where video game professionals, and the gamers who love their products can meet in one place! At this 3 day expo you’ll find exclusives, insider information on new games, and even a chance to talk to your favorite video game creators! Cosplay is welcome so dress up as your favorite video game character and head to the expo!
Long Beach Pirate Invasion & Mermaid Festival – June 29-30, ShoreLine Aquatic Park, Long Beach
For two days, thousands of pirates, mermaids, and 3 pirate ships will invade ShoreLine Park in Long Beach! This festival is perfect for anyone who loves Pirates or Mermaids. Witness live sword fights, canons blasting, and even a pirate led rock band! This year so many mermaids are showing up, that a whole new Mermaid Village will be made just for them! Blend in with the sea-loving invaders and wear your own pirate or mermaid costume!
