Right off the bat, there are several events happening during the first weekend of April including the Renaissance Faire in Irwindale, the annual comic book convention, WonderCon, in Anaheim, and the My Little Pony convention, BABSCon, in the Bay Area.

Summer is finally here! The kids are getting out of school and the weather is heating up which means more time for family fun. Luckily for our local customers, there are plenty of costume events to keep you busy this month! From pirate festivals to cosplay conventions and everything in between, you’re sure to find a fun event that’s up your alley.

A family fun activity that involves dressing up and giving to charity? Yes! In SoCal, there will be two benefit events to help raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation called the Jr. Hero Run. The first will be held on June 13, 2015 at the South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes, CA. The second event will be held on July 25, 2015 at the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont, CA.

Free Comic Book Day is a special day coordinated by comic book publishers, retailers, and other reading partners to encourage comic book reading by offering free comic books on this assigned day. Typically scheduled for the first Saturday in May, this annual event is held nationwide at participating comic book stores who give away anywhere from one or more pre-selected comic books to anyone who comes in to the store.
