Opening Day at the Renaissance Faire
|Renaissance Faire season in Southern California is here! We decided to be some of the first to experience it this year and headed to opening day of The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire here in Irwindale, California! The weather was a perfect low-70s, a huge contrast compared to the 90-degree weather we had last year! It was the perfect day to head out in layers of Renaissance-themed clothing.
After seeing some cool versions last year, we decided to make our own Medieval Disney Princess costumes. Stay tuned for tutorials on each costume!
It was a packed opening day. While we waited in line to get tickets, we were greeted by a local butcher selling fresh meat! Hungry anyone?
Cameras aren’t a normal thing in Medieval times, so don’t be surprised if you attract a few curious onlookers!
There was lots to see and buy throughout the whole faire. From hand crafted items for the home to clothing and accessories to wear on your next trip to the faire, the marketplace had it all!
The Faire goer looked like he was sent from up above! The locals definitely thought so as they fell to their knees to bow down to him whenever they saw him!
The food and drinks are one of my favorite parts. There so many interesting things to try!
Throughout the faire you’ll find locals going about their daily activities. Be sure to observe them for a while as they have some fun conversations! The ladies doing laundry at the well are always entertaining!
Opening weekend was a success! The Original Renaissance and Pleasure Faire runs every weekend until May 19th so be sure to visit before it ends!
