With parties and events being cancelled left and right due to COVID-19, it’s no surprise that Halloween will look a little different this year. Normally the events list for Halloween is full of parties, haunted mazes, scary movies, and trick or treating. So what do you do when none of that is happening? We hunted down a few LA area drive-thru Halloween events that are reinventing Halloween in a safe way for the new times that we live in. With the help of the drive-up, drive-thru, and drive-in, Halloween loves can celebrate from the comfort and safety of their own cars.

LA Haunted Hayride – Bonelli Regional Park, San Dimas

Haunted Hayrides are a staple of Halloween celebrations. This year LA Haunted Hayride is taking their traditional Hayride horror maze and making it a drive up experience. Horror lovers will be able to enjoy the classic haunted hayride in an whole new way from inside their own cars.

Nights of the Jack: A Drive-Thru Halloween Experience – King Gillette Ranch, Calabasas

This event is perfect for the whole family! Nights of the Jack takes the classic tradition of driving around looking at Christmas lights and makes it Halloween friendly. During this drive-thru you’ll see Jack o’Lanterns like you never have before! From simple pumpkins to elaborate art installations, this drive-thru was made to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience – Downtown Los Angeles

Fans of the hit show Stranger Things will love this experience. It will put you right in the middle of the show! Experience your favorite events from the series as you drive through multiple locations in Hawkins. Although this event runs through February, it is perfect for Halloween.

The Bite LA: Halloween Food Crawl & Creature Safari – Legg Lake, South El Monte

This fun event combines a haunted Halloween drive-thru with a yummy food festival! This drive-thru trail features 8 bites of food from popular restaurants offered up by creepy creatures. At the end, park around the campfire and listen to spooky stories as you enjoy dessert, a warm drink.

Hauntoween Drive Thru – Woodland Hills

This drive-thru event puts the entire Halloween experience into one! At the Hauntoween Drive-Thru the whole family can participate into pumpkin “picking”, in car “door to door” trick or treating, immersive photo friendly installations, a video op, and live performances. This event is family friendly so even the youngest member and the dog can come! It’s the perfect event to get the Halloween experience and socially distance.

San Fernando Valley is hosting Halloween movie nights! These double features are perfect for getting into the spirit of the holiday.
