What to Wear: Easy Game of Thrones Cosplay Ideas

UPDATE: Spoilers Ahead

There are a lot of cosplay events this month across the nation including two big events, San Diego Comic-Con and the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, WI. As you know, we like to share with you costume ideas based on events that are happening around the country and today is no different. Although those two themes are not quite on the same wavelength, we’ve come up with some costume ideas that are suitable for both events! As you guessed from the title, we’re dishing out some fun costume ideas for a Game of Thrones theme. We chose this because GOT hits home with both the pop culture aspect of Comic-Con and the historical themes of the Renaissance, so in a way we’re killing two birds with one stone with these costume ideas.

Easy Daenerys Targaryen Cosplay
She’s the Mother of Dragons, a liberator of slaves, and always looks flawless! Daenerys Targaryen is a favorite among the Game of Thrones fandom, not to mention a beauty icon for all. She’s the inspiration of our first look which we created based off her iconic blue gown that graced the pages of Entertainment Weekly and so many episodes of GOT. We took a light blue dress with gold details and paired it with a blonde Renaissance wig. To complete the look, we added the dragon shoulder sitter accessory for an undoubtedly recognizable look.

Easy Drogo Cosplay
Another GOT fan favorite is (or should I say “was”) Khal Drogo. The mighty warlord and leader of the Dothraki people, this short-lived character was a favorite with both men and women. You can recreate his barbaric look with the featured accessories. Just remember to complete the look with his signature body paint and dark eye makeup and you’re sure to be a hit with any Game of Thrones fan!

Easy Cersei Lannister Cosplay
The villain that you love to hate, Cersei Lannister has been a major character for Game of Thrones and has managed to survive for five seasons. The power hungry matriarch of the ruling family is no stranger to manipulation and is notorious for her sinister deeds. If you’re a fan of the tyrannical temptress, then you can channel her style with this lovely red Renaissance dress. Complete the look with a wig and a pendant necklace to get into character. If you’re handy with sewing, you can add extra detailing around the sleeves and the waist to really make your outfit stand out.

Easy Jon Snow Cosplay
Jon Snow was highly favored among fans until his untimely demise this past season. As the illegitimate son of Ned Stark, lots of fans considered him a contender for the Iron Throne despite his lack of recognition or title as true royalty. Nonetheless, he will likely remain one of the most popular characters of the series. If you want to dress like him at your next cosplay event, we recommend pairing this dark Renaissance costume with this faux-fur trimmed cape to get the look. If your hair is short, you can complete your outfit with a black, curly wig to get a realistic look.
