What to Wear: Disneyland Lolita Day

Disneyland Lolita Day is on October 15th. For those of you who don’t know, Lolita Day is when everyone dresses in Lolita fashion to meet and gather at the Disneyland theme park. If you’re familiar with Dapper Day, it’s similar to that, except everyone will be in Lolita style. Still lost? Lolita fashion is a Japanese subculture that’s based on Victorian and Edwardian style mixed with a little bit of Rococo. Think: porcelain dolls come to life and you’ve got Lolita fashion.

If you’re going to attend Lolita Day at Disneyland, I think it’d make sense to also incorporate a Disney character into your outfit. Here are two outfits I’ve pulled together for you that would be perfect for Lolita Day.

Lolita Minnie Mouse
Everyone loves Minnie Mouse. And since she’s all about bows and ruffles, she’d be a great choice to dress up as. I started off with a red polka dot Lolita dress to pull from Minnie’s signature pattern. It also has cute bows that Minnie would certainly approve of. Black stockings would make it look like you have black legs so that would be a good idea as well. Minnie wears white gloves but a pair of white light gloves would certainly fit with this Lolita style. Only yellow shoes will do for Minnie. Adding the black Baby Doll Curls Wig gives the look more of a Lolita look. Finally, complete the look with Minnie ears, a yellow bracelet, and a lace parasol not only to give a Victoria vibe but to also block out that California sun that’s sure to show up even in the middle of October.

Lolita Daisy Duck

Next up, I put together an outfit for Minnie’s best friend, Daisy. This purple ruffled blouse gives off the Edwardian vibes I’m aiming for. Daisy doesn’t wear any bottoms, but that might be a little too risqué, so a tiered lace skirt is the perfect compromise to emulate Daisy’s white feathers. Orange leggings for Daisy’s legs are a must, of course. A pink Cosplay Doll Wig is necessary for the Lolita look. Complete the look with accessories like Minnie ears, a bracelet, ring, parasol, and the perfect shoes.
