If you’re anything like me, you’ve been so focused on the Holidays and finding those perfect gifts for your family and friends, that you’ve forgotten that New Years Eve is this weekend! I know, it’s the same day every year, exactly a week after Christmas, but somehow it always sneaks up on me. In case you haven’t already made plans for how you plan to start off the new year, I’ve been checking out what NYE events are available for LA locals, and there is A LOT. After narrowing down my list, I thought I would share a few events that sounded like a great way to ring in the new year.
If you’re fine with dealing with a huge crowd, Disneyland on NYE offers family friendly entertainment. They will have extended park hours until 2am, and they will be featuring a special NYE “Fantasy In The Sky” fireworks show at 9pm (To ring in the New Year with the east coast) and 11:55pm. Disney’s California Adventure will also be counting down with “Fountains and Fireworks” on Paradise Pier and “New Years Eve Countdown Celebration at Hollywood Land”.
Hosted at the Grand Park with The Music Center, you can attend NYELA. This free event starts at 8pm and keeps going after the ball drops until 1am. This family friendly event will feature live music, photo booths, and food trucks.
If you enjoy dressing up, you may want to attend Prohibition NYE at Union Station. This 1920’s themed party will be featuring live jazz music, burlesque dancers, and an open bar. Formal roaring 20’s wear is required for this 21+ only event, if you plan to attend be sure you’re dressing accordingly.
New Years at the Queen Mary will feature live music from Sir Mix-A-Lot, Los Chicos Del 512 (Selena Tribute Band), various DJs, dueling pianos, and a fireworks spectacular when the clock hits midnight. Get your tickets now NYE Aboard The Queen Mary
If you plan on being in the Hollywood area for New Years, The Egyptian Theater Courtyard/Confession Lounge in Hollywood will be hosting the Cleopatra’s 9th Annual LA New Year’s Eve Ball. Featuring live DJs, various VIP areas, and a 5 hour premium open bar, you won’t want to miss out on counting down with the Pharaohs at this 21+ only event.

Part time Disney princess, but I love the Disney villains. I enjoy things that are spooky such as zombies, skeletons, and bad witches. Up made me ugly cry. My favorite superhero is Batman, because I am the night.
