Los Angeles Area Costume Events: September 2019
|Summer officially ends this month but the costume events are still coming! This month you can find events for the whole family that fit every interest. Get your costumes together and head out for a fun time. Here’s our September 2019 Los Angeles Costume Events infographic.
Oktoberfest- September 21 – October 6, Various Locations
It’s isn’t October yet, but Oktoberfest starts this month! Break out your Lederhosen and Dirndls for two weeks of boozy fun! If you like cultural celebrations that include the chicken dance and international beers, you’ll have loads of fun! This event, based in Munich, has become a worldwide phenomenon with events held in cities all over the world! Discover new lagers, eat some Bavarian food, and dance to both traditional and current popular music!
Batman 80th 5K, September 21, Los Angeles City Hall
Show love for your favorite superhero and get some exercise too. This 5k isn’t your typical race. This 5k is all about Gotham’s main hero. Run through the streets of LA at night with tons of other Batman fans. At the end of the race you’ll find fun for the whole family. There will be an entertainment stage, food trucks beer garden, and batman himself! Take you fun to the next level and complete the run in Batman costumes or gear. It doesn’t matter your age or speed, this celebration is for all Batman fans!
Nerd Expo, September 21, Pasadena Convention Center
What was previously known as NerdBot Con is now known as Nerd Expo! This small con was created by NerdBot Media, a company known for nerd meetups and events throughout Southern California. As NerdBot Con, this convention was known for being an alternative to big corporate conventions with expensive tickets and long lines. Now, as Nerd Expo, it is still all of that and more! At this con you’ll find cosplay contests, nerd karaoke, celebrity guests, and over 120 vendors! Grab a costume and join the fun!
Wasteland Weekend- September 25-29, Edwards, CA
This 5 day post-apocalyptic event attracts thousands of people from all over the world to the middle of the California desert to live out fantasies from Mad Max and other post-apocalyptic films and games! Wasteland Weekend attendees are fully immersed in a world straight out of a movie or video game. Costumes are required and even your campsite must look the part! Over the course of the weekend you’ll experience concerts, games, post-apocalyptic vehicle races and car shows, performances, Mad Max Thunderdome-esque fights, and even a market for all your wasteland needs.
