Summer isn’t over yet! Get out there and enjoy yourself while you still can! We’ve spent time researching costume events happening in the LA area so you can spend as much time as possible enjoying what the city has to offer! Whether you want to nerd out, get fancy, or get ready for the biggest costume event of the year, we’ve got something for you!
Star Wars in Concert– August 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th at Hollywood Bowl
Enjoy the Star Wars films like never before, with a live orchestra and thousands of other fans! For four nights, the Hollywood Bowl is hosting a movie viewing like no other! You can watch either A New Hope or Empire Strikes Back, with the movie score played to you live by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Come early to the Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday performance and you’ll even get a free lightsaber! Dressing up is highly encouraged so break out your best Star Wars costume!
The Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball– August 24th and 25th at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel
For the past 20 years, the Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade Ball has combined the traditional Venetian masquerade ball with a world of fantasy. At this event, you can get lost in a magical world straight out of fantastical storybooks. This weekend is the perfect time to bring out your most stunning avant-garde costumes. LOJ Masquerade encourages its attendees to let their imaginations run wild and create outfits drawing inspiration from costuming, movies, fairy tales, and wherever else your imagination will take you! While you’re there enjoy performances, dancing, and magical experiences!
ScareLA– August 25th and 26th at the LA Convention Center
If you haven’t started thinking about Halloween yet, why not?? Luckily you can head to ScareLA, the first Halloween centered fan convention! At ScareLA you’ll get the inside scoop on new upcoming Halloween attractions. You can even sign up for classes and workshops to make sure this Halloween is your best ever! Sit in on industry panels, movie screenings, and even meet some of your favorite actors and industry pros! Put on your scariest costume and show your love for the holiday! With so much Halloween goodness, you’ll get into the Halloween spirit in no time!
