Los Angeles Costume Events: April 2018
It’s that time again! Time for our monthly round up for costume events happening in the LA area! Here’a a few events we think you’ll like!
The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire
Travel back in time to the Renaissance with this living slice of history! With 56 years of experience, this Renn Faire is back to bring you a Medieval Experience! No two weekends are alike at this Renn Faire, so you’ll want to go as much as possible! This year, themed weekends include Pirate Day, for all the buccaneers out there and Time Travelers Weekend for people from every decade! Back for more fun is RennCon, a Comic Convention/Renn Faire combo! And introducing for the first time, Heroes and Villains weekend. A time to bring out your favorite hero or villain costume! The Faire is also full of performances, scavenger hunts for kids, costume contests, food, and even a pub crawl! So grab your best medieval costume and head to the Renn Faire!
The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire will be held from April 7th through May 20th at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area
Monsterpalooza
Join Monsterpalooza for it’s 10th anniversary! Monsterpalooza is a three day convention celebrating “The Art of Monsters and Movie Magic”. At this ghoulish convention, you’ll find makeup artist doing live demos, hundreds of vendors, celebrity guests, and a monster museum! The people apart of the show don’t get to have all the fun! It’s time to break out your most gruesome monster costume and gory makeup skills and show everyone what you’ve got! The weekend will also include panels, film screenings, and more!
Mosterpalooza will be held April 13th-15th at the Pasadena Convention Center
Spring Dapper Day Expo and Outing at Disneyland
Disneyland Dapper Day returns for it’s Spring outing! For two days, vintage lovers head to the Disneyland Hotel for a weekend of vintage shopping, performances, and even hair styling! This year’s expo will include the West Coast debut performance of Dandy Wellington and His Band, and a book signing by Dita Von Teese! On Sunday, head to the Disneyland park for a fun filled day in your Disney inspired vintage or modern dapper clothes!
The Dapper Day Expo will be held on April 21st and 22nd at the Disneyland Hotel. The Disneyland Spring Outing will be held on April 22nd at the Disneyland Park.
Villains Night and Cosplay Karaoke
If you’ve ever wanted to go to an arcade in cosplay, Nerd Knights events are for you! This month’s nerdy night out theme is Villains! Dress up as your favorite villain and get ready for a night of games, food, and drink! This night will also feature karaoke on a rooftop bar and the world premiere of Reverse Flash: Origins Episode 4! Cosplay is not required but it is recommended, so make sure you have your villain costume ready!
Villains Night and Cosplay Karaoke will be held on April 5th at Dave & Buster’s in Arcadia
