Returns And Exchanges Policy
 

Due to the “one time use” nature of our products, standard practice within the Costume Industry has always been No Returns or Exchanges. However, times are changing. Costumes are now being purchased over the internet where they can not be inspected for quality or tried on ahead of time. To accommodate for this, PureCostumes has developed a Return Policy. If for any reason you are not happy with your selection, you may exchange the item for a different size or for something of equal or greater value. Please read this section carefully to make sure you understand what our guarantee means. If you don't understand this guarantee, we urge you not to proceed with your purchase and instead, contact our customer care department to get your questions answered.

Our Return Policy is as follows:

  • There are No Returns or Exchanges on the following items: Hats, Wigs, Masks, Make-up, and Costume Accessories.
     
  • All items are thoroughly checked prior to shipping. If an item is damaged or destroyed in shipping, please contact us or the carrier immediately upon inspection.
     
  • Costuming may be exchanged for a different size or another item of equal or greater value within 3 days of receipt of merchandise. Please open your costume and try it on as soon as it arrives.
     
  • To exchange an item, please follow our exchange instructions.
     
  • To return an item, please follow our return instructions
     
  • All shipping charges are nonrefundable.
     
  • Once Authorization is given, your package must be post-marked within 5 days of the return authorization date.  Items returned after the RA expiration date will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
     
  • Items being returned MUST be in their original, unused condition and in their original packaging. We do not accept returns on worn merchandise. The items will be sent back to you at your expense if we feel they have been worn and no credit will be issued.
     
  • Refused packages and items returned without a Return Authorization Number will be subject to a restocking fee of 25%.
     
  • There are NO Returns or Exchanges on special orders or orders containing over 12 pieces of an item.
     
  • IMPORTANT Halloween Exchange Policy Exclusion Dates: Due to the seasonal nature of our merchandise, All orders shipped between October 13 and November 3rd are FINAL SALE. THEY ARE NOT RETURNABLE OR EXCHANGEABLE. Please be sure to review sizes and double check basket contents before ordering. We advise you to order early to avoid problems and disappointment during this short block out period.

Please Note: Costume styles (Colors and Fabrics) are subject to change without notice, due to the manufacturer's production. These changes, no matter how slight, are beyond our control.  The Manufacturers do not always notify us of these variations. We do reflect any changes in the website descriptions and images as soon as we become aware of them. Need to Return an Item? Here's How

It is important to follow these instructions. They are the same regardless of the reason why you are returning the item. Once we receive your return item, we will issue a refund in accordance with our refund/return policies. If you are returning an item because of a size issue, please make sure you check the costume itself and not rely on the label on the outside packaging. It is not unusual for a manufacturer to use the same labeling/packaging for all size costumes. In addition, it is possible that the size of the costume is correct while the package labeling is incorrect.

The Process
  1. Contact us within 3 days of receiving your merchandise to obtain a Return Authorization (RA) number. NO EXCEPTIONS       
  2. Fill out the return form that is included in the package. It is important to input the RA number. Items returned without a Return Authorization (RA) Number will be subject to a restocking fee of 25%.
  3. Write the RA number on the front of the return package. The RA number must be written clearly on the outside of the box.
  4. Once Authorization is given, your package must be post-marked within 5 days of the return authorization date.  Items returned after the RA expiration date will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.

Need to exchange an item? Here’s how…

You must place a new order for the needed replacement item(s) and return the items(s) you have already received. This is because the desired item maybe out of stock by the time we receive your return item(s) and to ensure the fastest delivery of your replacement item(s). Please refer to our return policy and instructions. Refunds are the cost of the merchandise only, not including shipping and handling.

Refunds

All returns accompanied by the original invoice will be refunded for the full amount of the merchandise and sales tax ONLY. Refunds are issued when item is received and inspected. We will not refund shipping or handling charges either direction. Refunds are issued on the credit card account number used to make the original purchase. Please allow 1-2 billing cycle for credit to appear on your statement.

Important Note

During the busy season of October – December it can take 2-3 weeks to process a return. If you are returning an item during this time period, please do not expect your refund to be issued instantly once we receive it. Each item has to be carefully examined to make sure it meets the criteria. Your account will be updated with the refund information once we have processed your return and issued the credit.
