Oktoberfest Party Games and Activities

While we’re still on the subject of Oktoberfest, we wanted to give you some bonus ideas for making your Oktoberfest party a blast. Aside from the beer and brats, you’ll want to make sure that your guests are fully entertained, that’s why we’re sharing our favorite games and activities with you today.

Chugging Contest. We knew those countless frat parties in our college days would come in handy! When it comes to drinking games, the classic chugging contest is as easy as it gets. Fill up the steins and see who can do it the fastest. It’s a lot of fun, but a disclaimer is necessary! Beware of over-consumption and please remember to drink safely.

Beer Stein Race. A classic game played at many Oktoberfest celebrations, the beer stein race involves carrying steins full of beer across a length of space. The players are measured by time and how much beer remains in the stein at the finish line. Think you’re up to the challenge? Try playing with multiple steins in each hand to make things even more interesting!

Beer Tasting Game. Put your knowledge of beer to test with this party game. In a blind taste test, contestants must try to name the beers that they are sampling. If you want to be nice you can make it multiple choice.

Costume Contest. People who celebrate Oktoberfest love getting dressed up in costume. It makes the experience feel that much more authentic! Host a costume contest to get your guests excited about dressing up and award a prize for the best dressed.

Bratwurst Eating Contest.  Make sure your guests bring their appetites with them to the party so they can participate in a bratwurst eating contest. See who can stuff the most sausages into their belly in 2 minutes while the rest of your guests cheer them on.

Chicken Dance. Lastly, Oktoberfest would not be the same without the Chicken Dance. Every year, Oktoberfest festivals bring celebrities to lead the dance, but when it’s at your house, you can be the leader! This polka dance classic is sure to get everybody’s spirit up!
