Easy Halloween Make-Up Trends to Try

Halloween is coming up and if you’re like me, the costume is just half the battle. The other half, and usually one of my most motivating factors, is having amazing Halloween make-up to complete the look. I’ll admit, I’m no pro when it comes to make-up but I do dabble. After scrounging the ends of the internet, I’ve found that these hot make-up trends are the easiest for anyone to recreate.

Leopard Make-Up

There are so many ways to apply leopard spots. You can add them around your frame of your face or you can wear it as eye make-up. Either way, it’s a pretty easy look to recreate. Do you know how to write a “C”? Of course, you do! That’s all you pretty much need to do to create a pattern of leopard spots. Just draw almost closed “Cs” where you would like your spots to be. Change the direction and the size of each spot to create an irregular pattern. You can also add dimension by adding an accent color in the center like gold or tan.

Bruises

It’s surprisingly easy to create a fake bruise. All you need is blue and red makeup and a porous sponge. Luckily, the costume make-up kit featured below (here) has all of that and more. Start by dabbing one color onto the spot where you’d like your bruise to be with the sponge, then layer on the next color in the same way. The blue and red will mix and create a purple hue much like a real bruise. You can use bruises for lots of costumes including ghosts, zombies, or boxers.

Doll Make-Up

The thing that really makes doll make-up is white eyeliner along the bottom lash line. This gives the impression of larger, doll-like eyes. You can also add freckles to your cheeks by dotting brown eyeliner to your skin. Finish off the look with blush and line your eyes with black eyeliner, (preferably liquid), and a bold set of false eyelashes (here).

Ghost Make-Up

Nothing a little white face paint and black shadow couldn’t create. What’s great about ghost make-up is that you can add it to virtually any costume. Make a dead version of your favorite celebrity, or movie characters, or wear it with your favorite historical costume. All you have to do is add white face paint all over your face including your lips. Then contour using black eye shadow. Lastly hollow out your eyes by encircling them with black shadow.
