DIY Miss Peregrine’s Masked Ballerinas Costume

DIY Miss Peregrine's Masked Ballerinas Costume

Are you excited for the release of Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children? I definitely am. It looks so eerie and fascinating all at once and I can’t wait to watch it! The characters that really made an impression on me were the two children in white. They really piqued my interested so after some digging around, I found out that they are the Masked Ballerinas and have telepathic powers. I thought they were so interesting that I decided to come up with a DIY costume for them that would be perfect for Halloween.

The base of this costume is the white nightgown that they’re wearing. The twins are wearing a type of romper that look like it’s from the Victorian Era and I found that this Wicked Doll Adult Costume has that same vintage feel. With the ruffled lace collar and cream tone, it’s the perfect look.

The next part of the costume is the mask that they children are wearing. One option is to create a paper mache mask, but because I like to take the easy way out, I think this blank mask and a white bomber hat would do just fine. With a black permanent marker, you can draw on the triangle eyebrows and also make sure you color in around your eyes with black eyeliner so really give it that creepy and vacant look.

Finally, complete the costume with a pair of white stockings, white shoes, and an old teddy bear and your Masked Ballerina costume is complete! Whether you’re a fan of the book or just excited about the movie, this costume is sure to be a hit. So what do you think?
